Argentina 2-2 Canada- Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2008

Argentina finished their group engagements in the 17th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Ipoh  when they drew 2-2 with Canada in Ipoh on Saturday. The result means that Argentina, who had already qualified for the final prior to this game, finish with fourteen points from six games. They drew with Pakistan and Canada, and beat India, New Zealand, Belgium and Malaysia. Argentina will face India in the final, and will be favourites to beat the team they thrashed 5-1 earlier in the tournament. However India are on a good run, and Retegui will know better than to take the South Asians lightly.

Facudo Callioni scored the first goal for Argentina in the 47th minute, while Martin Sosa added the second twelve minutes later. Just as it seemed that Argentina had closed the door for the Canadians, the latter hit back with goals from Sukhwinder Singh and Ravi Kahlon in the last ten minutes of play to draw the game.

Canada will take on Belgium in the fifth/sixth place playoff on Sunday.
