Becks to train with the Gunners ?

It is something that one would never have thought possible a decade back. But David Beckham, former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder, may train with United’s fierce domestic rivals, Arsenal, as he attempts to become the fifth English player to win 100 caps for country.

Becks has to prove his fitness to new England boss Fabio Capello before the game against Switzerland at Wembley on February 6. He has 99 caps to his name, and if he does play against the Swiss, his name will join the likes of Peter Shilton, Bobby Moore, Bobby Charlton and Billy Wright in the list of England footballers to have played 100 or more times for country.

Arsenal train at London Colney ( Bell Lane). The village is a short distance away from Beckham’s home, and he is familiar with the ground as England have often used it for training purposes.
