Yuvraj Singh hits six sixes in an over

Yuvraj Singh has now joined the likes of Ravi Shastri, Gary Sobers and Herschelle Gibbs in the elite list of those who have managed to clear the ropes six times in the same over. As I write this, India have qualified for the semifinals, and the Proteas have committed harakiri on home soil yet again. How difficult is it to get 125 in 20 overs ? In 2003, it was a mistaken interpretation of the D/L system. In 2007, well……..

Chris Broad’s son has entered the record books for all the wrong reasons after being at the receiving end of Yuvraj’s sixes. As for Yuvraj, he would have celebrated mentally- remember that he went for 30 in one over thanks to Dimitri Mascrenhas ?

50 off 12 balls in any version of the game is brilliant. I think Yuvraj’s record will remain intact for a long long time to come.

The semifinalists now are

1.) Pakistan

2.) Australia

3.) New Zealand

4.) India.

Sri Lanka and South Africa the two major teams to be knocked out in the super eights.
