Jacques Kallis resigns as vice captain

South African all rounder Jacques Kallis has resigned as his country’s vice captain after not being named in the squad for the inaugural twenty twenty World Cup to be held in the country next month.

Kallis was given the cold shoulder by the selectors as they selected their team for a tournament where people need to score as fast as possible. Although Kallis has never been the person with the highest strike rate in the Proteas squad, it has improved considerably over the years. The selectors simply stated that the reason for his omission was to keep him fresh for the numerous tests and one day internationals that South Africa are to play in the next couple of years.

Meanwhile, wicket keeper Mark Boucher, who criticised the decision in a newspaper article, has been reportedly asked to appear in front of a discplinary comitttee.
