94th Tour de France comes to an end

The 94th edition of the Tour De France has come to an end. The world’s premier cycling event has provided plenty of action and drama in the last three weeks, and at the end of it all, has been won by a young Spanish rider named Albert Contador

Contador is the youngest to win the Tour, after German Jan Ulrich in 1997. He is also the first Spaniard to win the title since the legendary Miguel Indurain.

The doping drama in this year’s Tour has marred the event- with Michael Rasmussen, Alexandre Vinokourov and Cristian Moreni all reportedly guilty.  Rasmussen and Vinokourov deny any wrongdoing- the investigators will have to sort that out.

The organisers will be thinking about changes for next year- some reports are saying that they are contemplating going back to the national team format, last used in 1968.
