Premiership results 28-29 October

Arsenal 1-1 Everton ( Cahill, Van Persie)

Some terrible Arsenal defending lead to the first goal from Cahill. The Toffees defended resolutely, but Van Persie’s free kick gave Arsenal a point after some furious bombarding of the Toffees goal.

Bolton 0-4 Manchester United ( Wayne Rooney *3, Cristiano Ronaldo)

United seem to be getting better with every game. They made light weight of what was supposed to be a tough game. Best news for United, Roo’s back and firing.

Fulham 0-1 Wigan (Henri Camara)

Wigan deserved the win for their excellent performance in the first half.

Liverpool 3-1 Aston Villa ( Kuyt, Peter Crouch, Luis Garcia, Agbonlahor)

Easily the best performance from Rafa’s Reds this season. 3 first half goals ending Martin O Neill’s side’s unbeaten run

Newcastle 0-0 Charlton

Newcastle dominated, but for all their possession, they had nothing to show in terms of goals and points.

Portsmouth 3-1 Reading ( Gunnarsson OG, Kanu, Pedro Mendes, Doyle)

Reading have been on a bit of a downslide after their loss at home to Chelsea. Easy home win for Pompey.

Sheffield United 0-2 Chelsea ( Lampard, Ballack)

You don’t miss penalties against a side like Chelsea, and if you do, they make you pay. That is precisely what happened to Sheffield after Webber missed his spotkick. Lampard scored from a FK. I can’t remember when he last did that 😀 Ballack scored from a header from the far post.

Watford 0-0 Tottenham

Lively game, but no goals at all.

West Ham 2-1 Blackburn ( Sheringham, Mullins, Bentley)

Great relief for Alan Pardew as his men put on an inspirational performance to down Blackburn 2-1. 100th Premiership home win for the Hammers ( 150th overall). Teddy does it again, and proves that he still has a lot to offer, despite being on the wrong side of 40.
