Germany thrash San Marino 13-0 –European qualifying

Germany produced a remarkable display to demolish San Marino 13-0 with Gillette young player of the World Cup Lukas Podolski scoring 4. The game erased Spain’s 12-1 thrashing of Malta some two and a half decades ago. San Marino were at home and the Germans had laboured to a 1-0 victory over the Republic of Ireland earlier. The record also puts Joachim Low  and Giampaolo Mazza into the history books, although for very different reasons altogether.( Low is the German coach and Mazza is his San Marino compatriot)

San Marino 0-13 Germany ( Podolski*4, Schweinsteiger*2, Klose*2, Hitzlseperger*2, Ballack, Manuel Freidrich, Bernd Schneider)
