Michael Carrick likely to be out for upto 3 weeks

New Manchester United signing Michael Carrick is expected to be out for upto 3 weeks after suffering ligament damage to his ankle in the Red Devils’ victory over Ajax in a pre season friendly.

It was Carrick’s second game for the Old Trafford club since his 18.6 million pound move from White Hart Lane.He is now expected to miss United’s opener against Fulham and possibly games against Charlton and Watford too.

The news comes as another setback for United,who have several players already on the injury list.

Currently,they have Heinze,Gary Neville, Nemanja Vidic,Rio Ferdinand and John O’ Shea on the injury list.
