According to this BBC report, Barcelona vice chairman Ferran Soriano has stated that former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry is not going to leave the Catalan giants.
While lots of people would like to see the prolific forward back in the Premiership, one wonders which club he would join. He had said that he would not leave Arsenal, and then departed for Spain.
Chelsea are an option too.

David Beckham and Jose Reyes are now confirmed absentees for Real Madrid’s trip to Germany.
Both the players suffered knocks in the La Liga game against Getafe - Beckham to his right knee, and Reyes to his left.
Real won the first leg at home a fortnight ago, but the Bavarians scored 2 crucial away goals at the Bernabeu in their 2-3 loss, and a 1-0 will do for them. Beckham had a role in everything good that happened for Fabio Capello’s side.
The injury also means that Beckham may not attend Elizabeth Hurley’s wedding in India.

Big Sam has conceded defeat in the race for Birmingham medio David Dunn. Bolton had arranged a medical for the Birmingham medio and all roads seemed to point to the Reebok, but Blackburn Rovers hijacked with a late bid for their former trainee.
Dunn was discussing personal terms with Bolton and his decision to move to Blackburn will not go down well with Allarydce. The lure of going back home was too much for Dunn, who has had an injury prone career with Birmingham.Blackburn need cover after Steven Reid was injured earlier in the season. They sold him for 5 and a half million in 2003 and he is now expected to sign for a fee which is reported to be 2 million upto appearances.

I really haven’t posted in quite a while about golf, the reason plaintively being that there is too much cricket and soccer to distract me these days
However Jeev Milkha Singh winning the Volvo Masters does deserve a mention. Jeev is the son of legendary Indian athlete Milkha Singh, for those who haven’t heard of him. He won the Volvo Masters of Europe, the season ending tournament on the European Tour. Now that is some achievement, considering that he pipped the likes of Sergio Garcia and Padraig Harrrington to top spot. That win propels him into the top 100 golfers, no small achievement for a man from a country not too well known for its golfers.
Speaking about golf, an unused 11 acre site is going to be converted into a golf course for kids in New York. Kids as young as 5 will hone their skills there. Who knows…we might find another Tiger from there
. Before you wonder whether this is a joke or part of some golf humour series, lemme assure you that it is not. This news is 100% true and the project is being funded by a combination of private and public money.
I’d better read up some golf articles to brush up too
. That might give me some theory knowledge only, but after reading about kids improving their skills , I need to be abreast too

My grandmom is one person I respect a lot. She is a person who has ventured quite deep into alternative medicine and herbal therapy. I am not somebody who is into that, but I do follow what my grandma does, because some of her findings can be pretty interesting
One day, she was speaking about the Goji berry. I hadn’t heard of it all in my life, but her description of it made me want to research a bit more about it. And here I am, with some of my findings ( Ok, they are from Googling only
)
The Goji berry, as some of you might know, grows on the plant Lycium Barbarum. The plant is native to certain remote regions of China, Mongolia and Tibet. Have a look at some of the berry’s properties —-
1.) 4 special polysaccharides which fortify your immune system
2.) 19 different amino acids- a feat not matched by any plant known to man
3.) More vitamin C than oranges. The goji berry should be used more in textbooks IMO
4.)Anti oxidants like beta carotene and zeaxanthin.
Himalayan Goji Juice is something really brilliant , I think
.And you can check Doctors’ opinions on Goji. I am going to go and buy goji Juice soon . I’ll report on how I am doing in the due course of time. Maybe I should start a section devoted to sports nutrition soon
What do you guys say???

Capture this:
1. You haven’t won a away game for a year now.
2. You have collected 5 points on the road from your last 17 games.
3. 11 first team regulars are on the physio’s table.
4. There is no fit left midfielder at the club.
5. Your 6 mn- rated star striker plays left midfield.
6. Beanie, the horse, seems to have lost its charm.
So what do you do next? Yes, you go away to Wigan and lose 0-4 . Thats what happened to City at the weekend; their worst defeat for 3 years now! It was a simply a spineless performance by the Blue half of Manchester, and as a fan, i felt ashamed to watch 11 non-committed players chase shadows at the JJB. The Chairman, John Wardle, has called the performance “embarrassing”. I call it “shameless”.
I often scorn at these fairweather football fans who support Chelsea just for the money they have and all that jazz. But now I know why they chose Chelsea and not City, because Chelsea win games week in week out, and the fans are content, City dont win games; they cant buy an away point these days.
Whatever it may be, I like Stuart Pearce. He calls spade a spade and is ready to accept blame for under-par performances. I have read many articles on the City defeat but the gaffer’s attitude makes me feel comfortable. I know that City is indeed in right hands.
Quoting Stuart Pearce, “The fans have always backed this football club from start to finish. It is down to me to say to the players ‘You have to match the passion that the supporters have for this football club’.”
The results are not painful, but the lack of passion shown in that blue jersey is! I hope that we turn things around soon. I really do. And I know that Psycho is the right person.
Go Psycho!!!
See what Pearce had to say.

One of the best ways to unwind is go and have a game of golf. Not surprisingly, many business deals are inked out on golf courses too. I was scanning the net for some golf resorts and some excellent ones cropped up. Here is one such resort.
Condado de Alhama is a new resort and is situated in Costa Calida in the region of Murcia in South eastern Spain. Spain and golf connected me to Severiano Ballesteros for an instant
. It is situated in a virgin place, but has excellent connectivity to the rest of Spain and Europe. It has about 2,500,000m2 of greens and fairways together with 800,000m2 (an area equivalent to 400 football pitches). Thats’ some area , isn’t it ?
A five star resort from Polaris world, it has three championship courses, all designed by Jack ” the Golden Bear” Nicklaus. Two Bear’s best ( the first in Europe) and one signature course.
Man, I’d love to tee off on any course designed by the greatest golfer of all time. It is managed by Overseas Property Shop.
I’ll be off there soon. Hope to see some of you guys there too .

theblacksheep is a Manchester City fanatic. And hence I intend to post more about the club from the Eastlands. In the near future, I will post previews, reviews and all the gossip you will need to know about the Blue half of Manchester.
And for the uninitiated, City are currently with nine points from as many games and are eleventh in the table. Next, they face Wigan at the JJB in six days time.Till then, keep cheering for this “Blue Billion” !

First game on the 3rd of November against Sheffield United, we won 2-1. It was the third round of the league Cup
Screenshot of the game
Then beat Tottenham Hotspurs 3-0. Spurs are always a team I struggle to beat in the EPL, for some reason, mainly due to Simon Davies, Robbie Keane and Helder Postiga.
All three goals in the second half, and we scored three out of 19 shots on goal.

Great start for Bernhard Peters’ men at their own home world cup. A 3-2 victory over India. And for India-the same old story-inability to defend in the dying minutes. When Christophe Zeller scored the winning goal with 90 odd seconds on the clock, I felt a sense of deja vu. Remember the Champions Trophy not too long ago, where India led the Dutch 3-0 for all but 9 minutes of the game and went to lose 3-4.
Coming back to the game, the Germans again displayed typical European efficiency. Both their drag flicks were well taken, in comparsion to the shoddy ones taken by India. India did dominate possession in the second half, but were unable to make the most of it. Most of India’s attacks were from the left flank, but they lacked the final touch. Dilip Tirkey wasn’t his assertive best in defence and Kanwalpreet Singh was way off colour. India also lacked a penalty corner expert and it did show in the PC’s that they got. With Sandeep Singh havin literally got a “shot in the arm” in India and Jurgaj Singh no where near match fitness, India do not have a specialist drag flicker. Most of the Indianshots were just hits blasted and they were either intercepted or ruled out for being too dangerous.
Germany’s third goal was a well set up one. Their midfield and defence shaped up pretty well. Oliver Hentzschel scored one and Zeller had a brace. Strength, stamina, dedication and fitness prevailed in the end and Peters would be happy to go home with all three points. Kudos to Shivendra Singh who made the most of his WC debut, with 2 goals to his name.

Hamburg SV defender Khalid Boulahrouz has agreed to personal terms with Chelsea.Boulahoruz’s capture is an attempt by Mourinho to shore up the defence which looked completely out of sorts against Liverpool in the Community shield.
Boulahrouz is more famously remembered as one of the four men who saw red against Portugal in that infamous World Cup game which saw four men sent off. Before Hamburg,he was at RC Waalwijk.
It will be interesting to see how Khalid the Cannibal performs

The Swedish striker’s sale is probably the last in the list of players out of the Stade Delle Alpi. That list now reads

Vieira
Ibrahimovic.
The move also fuels rumours that Nigerian striker Obafemi Martins will move out of the San Siro into the Premiership.Inter now have Cruz,Adriano,Crespo,Recoba,Ibrahimovic and Martins in their list of strikers.

Newcastle boss Glen Roeder could make a move for either Dirk Kuyt or Obafemi Martins to solve his striking crisis.
However Feyernoord’s asking price for Kuyt is rumoured to be a little too much for Roeder’s liking and Martins may be targeted by him. Martins has been pushed down the Inter Milan striking list after the arrival of Hernan Crespo and is on the wishlist of many Premiership clubs.

The Canadian Cricket association has said that it will not be able to host the ODI series between India and the West Indies in September. The series is not part of the ICC’s future tours program and was planned to help the cash strapped WICB raise some funds. The West Indian Players Association had threatened to skip the series because it was not part of the tours program.
The Indian cricket board is currently looking at an alternative venue for the event and may be even a different opponent.
Canada is not entirely new to hosting cricket games, with Toronto having hosted some epic encounters between India and Pakistan.
