New Zealand 3-0 Canada- Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2008
New Zealand scored their second victory in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup when they beat Canada 3-0 in Ipoh on Thursday. The win comes after a streak of three losses to Pakistan, Malaysia and Argentina, meaning that the win does not do anything to help the Black Sticks’ cause for a berth in Sunday’s final.
Kosoof Dave, Dean Couzins, and Nick Wilsons were the scorers for New Zealand.
The win takes New Zealand to fifth place. They are on the same number of points as Belgium, but the latter have a better goal difference.
The Black Sticks face Belgium in their last group game, and a win could see them in the third/fourth place playoffs on Sunday.
