I agree that this question can be difficult to answer and depends on
1.) The club with which you are playing- Obviously Thierry Henry is not going to come to Asia/ Latin America.
2.) The time ( year) in which you are playing.
3.) The budget given to you by your board ( Wages + transfer fees).
4.) The database with which you are playing ( Small/Medium/Large)
I’m currently with Tottenham, a few years into the game ( say 2009), on a small database and I do brilliantly with this combo. This bunch of players have gelled well with time, and I’ve had a season when the League, FA, Premiership and CL were mine.
Kasper Schmeichel
Jose Julian De La Cuesta ( DL)
Ledley King ( DC)
Darren Kenton ( DC)
Mbulelo Mabizela ( DR)
Matias Delgado ( ML)
Jermaine Jenas ( MC)
Ylidiray Basturk ( MC)
Richie Partridge ( MR)
Miroslav Klose
Anatoli Todorov
Substitutes-
Roy Carroll ( Brought him on loan in my first season, and chose to keep him)
Johan Absalonsen ( You might be wondering why I keep a player of Absalonsen’s class on the bench !. Partridge does an excellent job on the right, and Delgado on the left. Since I rotate my squad often, Absalonsen does get enough playing time)
Steed Malbranque ( Not as good as Partridge, but is certainly no mug)
Lee Lawrence ( Manchester United defender- has decent stats at DL)
Lomana LuaLua ( Great pace, struggled at Newcastle. Brought him cheap, and plundered 50 in the first season with a finishing of 12)
I do have some players that developed automatically in the game, but have not mentioned them.
An All Star XI will be coming up shortly.
