Argentina forward Javier Saviola has signed for Spanish giants Real Madrid. Saviola, who was at Barcelona before moving to the Merengues did not have his contract renewed by the Catalan club. Saviola has therefore moved on a free to the Bernabeu, and has signed a contract which will see him at Real till 2011
Saviola was brought to Spain by Louis Van Gaal in 2001 from River Plate, but he did not fit into Frank Riijkard’s scheme of things and spent the last two seasons on loan at Sevilla and Monaco respectively.
