Milan Mandaric to step down as Pompey chairman after Bolton match

Serbian American Milan Mandaric will resign as chairman of Portsmouth after the game against Bolton on Monday. The 65 year old is currently non executive chairman of the South Coast club after having sold it to Alexandre Gaydamak.

Mandaric, who bought over Pompey in 1998 after selling Nice, took the club into the Premiership in 4 years. Prior to Nice, he also owned Belgian club Standard Liege. He was also and investor in American football in his early tryst with investing in the beautiful game, having owned the San Jose Earthquakes.

Mandaric has however said that he will always be available for the club, and help will be always be a phone call away.
